PATTERN INFO

The ocean is a place where many of us feel most at peace. Personally, I love the sound of the waves crashing on the shores of the beach; it never, gets boring. Whether they are small waves whipped up by passing breezes or bold and stormy ones crashing into the beach during high tide, each has its own story. The cascading bands and lines of this cowl are meant to evoke the movement of those waves.

The pattern, which is both fully written out and charted, has a pleasing, intuitive rhythm and lends itself to any variations you may wish to make in the sequence and number of colors and repeats. This cowl is a perfect vacation or carry-along project and it lent itself to maximum playability with colors.

Madeline Tosh merino light (100 % merino wool), 100 gr-420yds/384m), except CC1. Sample shown in colors:

Crochet hook, US 6 (3.5 mm).
Stitch marker, tapestry needle.

GAUGE - BLOCKED 4" (10 CM)

In lace pattern, 25 stitches x 32 rounds.
A different gauge will affect final size and yardage.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS

Approx. 23” (58 cm) circumference x 14“ (35 cm) height.
My unblocked cowl was approx. 20.5” (52 cm) x 13” (33 cm).

ADJUSTMENTS

The cowl is easy to adjust and adjustments are provided in the pattern.
Different sizes and fits can also be achieved by altering yarn weight and/or needle size(s). Instructions are provided in the pattern.
